Intellectual Property
As a leading IP law firm in the country, we regularly handle prosecution of over 3500 trade marks and more than 1000 patents every year; we also file and handle more than 400 litigations in both fields every year.
The vast majority of our intellectual property work is for non-Mexican companies conducting business in Mexico. Our staff of attorneys, engineers and computer specialists helps adapt foreign patent specifications and claims to Mexican law, register patents and trademarks and maintain them by handling the necessary renewals. Our computer system, which is linked to the Mexican Patent and Trademark Department, permits us to provide our clients with a timely notice of the dates important for the protection of intellectual property. We also perform trademark searches and prepare and register user agreements.
We register copyrights and draft agreements between authors and publishers. Due to recent changes in technology, we are increasingly being called on for assistance in licensing and litigation relating to computer software.
Goodrich’s attorneys handle litigation for clients in all areas such as licensing, patent and trademark infringement, including counterfeiting, pirating and unlawful duplication of computer software.
