RURAL LAND USE

Direct private investment, including foreign participation, is now permitted in the exploitation of rural lands for agriculture and related uses as well as various forms of asociation with agrarian organizations ("ejidos"). The new regulations provide for security of land ownership and encourage application of modern technology to farming methods, the cultivation of crops and their commercialization.
