TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY

Until the 1970's, Mexican laws severely restricted the transfer of technology between other countries and Mexico, primarily by imposing low fees. Further complicating the process were regulations that burdened negotiations with seemingly endless bureaucratic procedures.

Recent years have seen substantial change, including a relaxation of laws concerning technology transfer and creation of greater equality between the supplier and the purchaser of technology. Still, however, companies need legal assistance.
