Since her beginnings, Beatríz Martínez had the opportunity to collaborate with the best law firms in the areas of corporate law and industrial property law, positioning herself as an expert in industrial property matters. She joined the Firm in 2008 and specializes in registration, and protection of trademarks, trade names and commercial slogans in Mexico, USA, Canada, Central and South America, European Community, Asia and Africa, including their maintenance: assignments, mergers, licensing, coexistence agreements, letters of consent; opposition procedures in Mexico and abroad; International Registrations (Madrid Protocol- World International Property Organization (WIPO)); European Trademarks protection (EUIPO); Nullity and Cancellation of Industrial Property rights; negotiation and elaboration of all kind of agreements; copyright protection; trade dress protection; trademark infringement. As a member of the Firm, she runs the Foreign Trademark Area, which includes the coordination of external law Firms regarding the registration, maintenance, and protection of IP matters worldwide; locally focuses in attending the requirements, objections and rejections issued by the Mexican Patent & Trademark Office (MPTO), including the recordal of assignments, mergers, licensing, coexistence agreements and letters of consent. As from Mexico became part of the Madrid Protocol, she attends the matters pertain to International Registrations filed through WIPO.
